General Rules:
- Language: English is the official and literary standard for Squad Line Battle (SLB).
- Modifications: Programs not part of the original game, including custom data and modifications, are not allowed in SLB games.
- Game Coverage: Game coverage is allowed but must be delayed by 15 minutes.
- Switching Sides: Switching sides during the match is not allowed.
- Map Votes: Every clan/team is allowed a maximum of 2 map votes.
- Match Duration: In the event of a match lasting under or exactly 30 minutes, the match will be restarted immediately.
- Destruction of Vehicles: Destroying empty tanks/vehicles in the opponent’s HQ is forbidden.
- Panther Tank: The use of the Panther tank on the Axis side is forbidden.
- Artillery Player: Both teams can have only 1 artillery player, who is unkillable. The artillery player can use all 3 guns during the match. If one side lacks an artillery player, neither side is allowed to use artillery.
Player Conduct:
- Complaints About Players: Do not complain about other players’ gameplay, skill, or actions before, during, or after the match (both in-game and on Discord). You may send them constructive feedback (in a respectful manner) on their actions after the game with the goal of helping them improve. All “toxic” complaints will be deleted, and the SLB admin team will contact the event manager responsible for the person in question.
- Complaints About Match/Team: Do not complain about the state of the match or your team before, during, or after the match (both in-game and on Discord). You may send constructive feedback (in a respectful manner) to the feedback channel in #support (Discord ticket). All “toxic” complaints will be deleted, and the SLB admin team will contact the event manager responsible for the person in question.
- Clan/Community Tags: All SLB participants must have their clan/community tag visible during the match (either added in their Steam name or in-game options). If a registered squad has friends from other clans joining to fill spots, those friends must use the tag of the registered squad. The event manager of the registered squad is responsible for their friends’ behavior and will be contacted by admins in case of any misconduct. The format of tags does not matter as long as it is readable and recognizable by admins and other participants. For example, “SLB”, “slb”, “SLBr”, and “slbr” are all allowed. Team tags not registered in the SLB system are not allowed.
Disciplinary Process:
- Complaint Threshold: The number of complaints needed for admins to start a disciplinary process is 3 (complaints from members of the same squad do not count). If the number of complaints is fewer than 3, they will be disregarded to prevent misuse of the complaints system.
Chain of Command:
- Obeying Commands: During an SLB match, all participants must follow the chain of command (Commander > Squad Leaders > Squad Members). If the chain of command is disregarded, admins will contact the event managers of the team in question and initiate a disciplinary process.
- No Commander Situations:
a) If teams do not have a commander, participants playing as artillery must take the role of commander to provide the team with commander abilities. They do not need to command or make any strategies/preparations and are not allowed to issue any commands to squads during the game. b) If teams are missing both commanders and artillery players, other players must briefly take the commander role to use commander abilities. They are not required to command or make preparations and are not allowed to issue commands during the game. c) If only 1 commander is registered for one team and the other team has no commander, both teams will play without commanders. Depending on the situation, rule 15a or 15b will apply. d) If commanders are registered for both teams, they must prepare for the match and have the authority to issue commands to squads during the game. Rule 14 applies in this case. - Squad Coordination: When no commanders are present, squads must work together to decide on further actions. Squads are allowed to hold a brief discussion before the game to discuss strategy and assign roles. All decisions must be made by mutual agreement. If positions and roles are decided during the briefing, squads must carry out those actions. All communication between squads must be respectful. Misbehavior will result in admins contacting the squad’s event manager, and a disciplinary process may follow based on their actions.
Registration & Support:
- Squad Registration: Team representatives can register their squads in the #Registration (Discord) channel from Thursday at 20:00 CEST until Saturday at 20:00 CEST. Registrations after this deadline must be made through the #Support (Discord) channel via a “Add squad to lineup” ticket. After the lineup is published on Sunday, team representatives may remove their squads without penalty until Monday at 16:00 CEST. Removal of squads after this point will result in a penalty (1-week ban from SLB and GHN) unless team representatives find their own replacement.
- Support Messages: All support-related messages posted in #Chat (Discord) will be deleted to keep the chat clear for social interactions. Support inquiries must be directed to the #Support (Discord) channel.
- Participant Allocation and Notification Policy: If one team does not have enough participants to fill all required roles and the other team is fully staffed, the Admin Team will notify any affected participants at least two hours prior to the event if their spot is canceled due to the imbalance.
Gameplay Specifics:
- Node Building: Nodes cannot be destroyed and can only be built in team headquarters.
- Server Hosting: The minimum requirement to host an SLB server is 10 sign-ups (for hosting 2 servers, the minimum requirement is 20 sign-ups).
- Lineup Priority: Lineup spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Teams registering two or more squads will only be guaranteed a spot for one squad, allowing other clans/groups to participate. This policy applies when the number of registrations exceeds available server spots. Additionally, members of the SLB Esports Club will be given priority when assigning spots.
- Tank Squads: The number of tanking squad members allowed during an SLB match is determined by the lineup. No other units, except tank squads, are allowed to use any type of tank vehicles.
Team Placement:
- New Teams: Teams registering for the first time in SLB will be placed on a server according to their competitive results.
- Server Placement: Teams will be assigned to specific servers based on their statistics in SLB matches.
- Dual Clan Participation Rule: Players who belong to two clans must always compete on the server associated with the clan that holds the highest ranking. For example, if one clan is ranked 1A and the other is ranked 2, the player must always participate on the 1A server. In instances where both clans are competing on the same server, the clans involved will have the responsibility to determine which team the player will represent.Violation of this rule will result in a ban from the server where the rule breach occurred.
Glitching and Bugs:
- Handling Bugs: Regarding glitching, clipping, and floating bug incidents, the rules outlined in Section 3 of the ECL Rulebook apply. Visit ECL for details.
